American families with incomes ranging from $2,000 to $10,000 a year; a traditional and modern architect were assigned to each family. In Wisconsin, Bernard Schwartz, a Two Rivers Business Man, was ready to build a house for his family and gave Wright the opportunity to build his Life Magazine “Dream House”. Wright modified the Life Magazine plans, changing the materials from stucco and stone to red tidewater cypress board and batten and red brick. Wright went on to design tables, chairs, hassocks, beds, fruit bowls, lamps and a couch with built-in bookshelves for the home. Based on Mr. Wrights classic bowl design Replogle has created two versions of the Frank Lloyd Wright 12” Diameter Schwartz Globe.
The light cherry version features a blue ocean globe ball with multi-color
land masses. The globe features easy to read text for country, city and
border demarcations. This modern globe ball is held by a robust hardwood
base and numbered die-cast meridian. This design allows for easy 720
degree viewing of all the countries of the world (360 degrees east/west
and 360 degrees north/south) including the countries in the southern
hemisphere. Standing 15” tall, the Frank Lloyd Wright Schwartz globes
are both an attractive and functional accent piece for the home and office.
